Shipping Fees and Policies
U.S. and International Shipping:
Our preferred method of shipping is through Ground Service UPS. The recipient’s telephone number is required on all orders. No P.O. boxes please for UPS.
Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as well as International requests are charged on an individual basis.
Please contact us for faster delivery options; due to our rural location, USPS Priority and UPS overnight and Second Day AM is not always available.
Most orders will be shipped out within 24 to 48 hours, Monday through Friday. If requested, we will e-mail you the UPS tracking number.
Handling Fees:
Some items may require special handling fees due to weight, fragility or size. Costs for these items will be reflected in the description and during checkout before your purchase is processed. Handling rates include insurance; all shipments are insured.
Ship to Another Address:
If you would like your order shipped to a friend, please change the delivery address during the checkout process. If there is a special message for the recipient, we will handwrite your message on a note with your name and include it in the shipment at no extra charge.
Under the Bill To section, please put in the address that matches the billing address of the credit card you intend to use.
Taxes/Duties:
Shipping within the state of Arizona, our current tax rate is 6.1%. When shipping outside the state of Arizona, we will ship the merchandise “tax free”. Depending on your state’s tax law, you are responsible for claiming and paying the tax to the state to which it was shipped.
Internationally, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once the package reaches your country. These costs are not reflected in our prices. Please check with your local Customs Office about these charges. Remember that if you send a gift, the taxes and duties are charged to the recipient upon delivery of the merchandise.
Shipping Claims:
We hardly ever have claims, but if an item is lost or damaged in the mailing process, the customer will collect money from us after we collect money from the mailing service.
Your package will be insured through the chosen shipping company, and they are responsible for any damage incurred during shipping. All companies, however, need to inspect the box/boxes and contents. If your merchandise arrives damaged, REPORT IT TO THE DESERT MUSEUM GIFT SHOP AT ONCE! DO NOT RETURN THE PACKAGE to us, as we will be unable to file a claim. Failure to follow these instructions could result in a refusal of the claim.
