Roseann Whiskers - Desert Museum Store

Roseann Whiskers, a Paiute, is in our opinion one of the best modern basket weavers in Native American today.  She learned to weave at the age of eighteen from her grandmother, Mary Lehi and lives today in the Hidden Springs area of Arizona near Tuba City.  She concentrates on Navajo wedding baskets and butterfly designed plaques of exquisite detail with tiny stitches and coils per inch creating baskets that harken back in time to the world class basket weavers of the Pomo, Washo and Apache of the 1800's.
