Betty Jean Fragua: Carved Red Vase

Betty Jean (B.J.) Fragua is one of the primer Jemez potters living today.  Her work is unsurpassed and the pride and effort in each of her creations show to the world her heritage and skill.  This stone polished carved jar of tan, grey/green & brown-on-brown clay is no exception.  The design motif is precise and executed to perfection.  This is a stunning piece!  Painted on the bottom of this pot is the name B.J. Fragua as well as the word Walatowa.  B.J. has also etched a small rain cloud design on the underside of the pot.
