Frog Fetish: Venton Kallestewa

Venton’s realistically carved frog is ready to catch insects with the long coral tongue that sticks out of its mouth. It eyes are set with small turquoise dots and is signed on the underside of its left foot with the letter K. The frog is probably the major fetish for conjuring up rain as well as being an animal associated with encouraging fertility in women. This is an excellent, but delicate, fetish and certainly worth the price. (JH)
