Jesse Monongya: Sterling Silver Women's Coral Bracelet

Famed Navajo-Hopi jeweler Jesse Monongya crafted this sterling silver, rectangle shaped coral bracelet in late 1984. The flawless, deep-orange coral wraps around both sides, and across the top of the bracelet. The bracelet contains a single turquoise dot on one side, as well as a thin mosaic band across the top of the bracelet set with coral, turquoise, jet, yellow, white abalone shell, and malachite. When we purchased this bracelet it represented the best in contemporary Native American Jewelry at the time. After 24 years it is still aesthetically perfect. (JH, DH)
