Jessie Garcia: Black and White Pitcher

Famed Acoma potter, Jessie Garcia, made this unique black-on-white pitcher in the late 1960s. This beautiful pitcher is reminiscent of older Anasazi pieces excavated from Mesa Verde, Colorado. This is a difficult piece to acquire and a bargain at this price. There is slight blistering on the lower half of the vessel—typical of Acoma pottery, particularly during the ‘50s and ‘60s.
